Supergirl is getting married! And not to her cousin either!
This issue begins with the Kryptonian criminal Tor-An escaping from the Phantom Zone. Tor-An commits identity theft and pretends to be a new teacher at Midvale High School (where Linda/Kara goes to school). He pretends to fall in love with Linda (yup, a teacher falling in love with his high school-age student) and then ‘reveals’ his Kryptonian identity to her. He fails to mention to Kara that he was banished to the Phantom Zone for transferring the minds of Kryptonians into the bodies of monstrous animals.
Their relationship gets pretty hot and heavy and eventually Tor-An proposes to Linda. She accepts and a date is set (coincidentally enough when Superman is out-of-town). Everything is hunky-dory until right at the end of their wedding ceremony where Tor-An spills the beans about his past. You see, Tor-An’s plan was to marry Supergirl to bring disgrace to the house of El.
But not so fast Tor-An! You see, that wasn’t Supergirl, it was Saturn Girl you ‘married’! Supergirl’s friends, who thought that Tor-An wasn’t totally kosher, contacted Saturn Girl to help. Saturn Girl was able to read Tor-An’s mind and she told Supergirl about her future husband. Tor-An is transported to the future where he is held in a Kryptonite prison cell until Superman can send him back to the Phantom Zone.
