Linda’s boyfriend is a Dick! Lena Thorul might be turning to the dark side!
This issue starts with Linda and her mundane boyfriend Dick attending a costume party. Dick dresses as Superman and Linda as Pocahontas. Lena Thorul, Linda’s psychic friend, comes dressed as Supergirl and Dick, who thinks Supergirl is the bee’s knees, starts ogling her. A gang of thieves tries to rob the attendees but Kara takes them down. By sheer luck Lena is the first to awaken from the sleeping gas the crooks used and since she’s dressed as Supergirl some people get the impression that she is actually Supergirl. Honesty though it’s only one attendee that is dumb not enough to realize that Supergirl probably wouldn’t come dressed as Supergirl to a costume party. That idiot is Linda’s boyfriend. Dick quickly forgets about Linda and tries to hook up with Lena.
That, my friends, is a classic ‘Oh shit, I just got dumped‘ look.
Next come a series of events which make Dick more certain that Lena is Supergirl and a few more opportunities for him to hit on Lena in front of his supposed ‘girlfriend’. Linda, don’t be a schmuck and dump this loser’s mundane ass. It’s not like you don’t have two other boyfriends that are a better pick that his guy. I should point out that Lena doesn’t seem to be fighting Dick away either. But really, what more should we expect from Lex’s sister?
Lex then gets in contact with Supergirl and asks her to deliver some legitimately-obtained diamonds to Lena as a birthday gift. She agrees to deliver his gift even though a) those diamonds should be used for restitution for Lex’s victims and b) Kara should jam those diamonds in Lena’s forehead for making out with her boyfriend. Dick thinks that he sees Lena making a diamond out of coal which reinforces his belief that Lena is Supergirl. This time though Lena doesn’t correct Dick, she lies and tells Dick that he is right! What could Lena’s reasoning be? Find out in the next issue!
