The other day I was discussing Doctor Who (at the time my experience with the show consisted of watching one episode of the 2005 season) on Twitter and it came to me that Doctor Who and Booster Gold are very similar. Now that I’ve seen four whole episodes of the new show I feel confident enough to write a quick article comparing the two.
- Both characters are Time Masters
- Both characters travel through time helping people
- Both characters have companions (Skeets/Blue Beetle for Booster Gold, many different ones for the Doctor)
- Both characters have strange tastes in clothing.
- Both characters have a deus ex machina device (Legion flight ring for Booster, the Sonic Screwdriver for the Doctor)
- Both have a time travel device (Time-Sphere for Booster, the TARDIS for the Doctor)
- The world seems to ignore all the good they do.
