Supergirl becomes a serial killer (maybe)!
This issue begins with Supergirl returning from a space mission. She is greeted by Streaky but the moment she touches him Streaky dies! The same fate occurs to both Krypto and Mister Mxyzptlk (she’s in a touchy mood, OK?)!
Comet dies too but you know what, fuck him.
Supergirl accidentally comes into contact with her adoptive mother who doesn’t die so Supergirl comes to the conclusion that she was exposed to some kind of space radiation (again with the space radiation!?!?) that makes her touch deadly to super-beings. She decides to quarantine herself in the past.
While she’s leaving Superman a recorded message describing her dilemma he shows up and informs Supergirl that her solution doesn’t cut the mustard. Oh no, she must be sent to the Phantom Zone! Since we all know, including Supergirl, that Superman can be a dick sometimes this extreme solution doesn’t set off any alarms. Superman then zaps his cousin to the Phantom Zone. It turns out that ‘Superman’ was actually an alien named Sklor in disguise. The alien race Sklor belongs to wants to conquer Earth but the first thing they have to do is get rid of the Super Family. Sklor impersonated Supergirl’s pets (and Mister Mxyzptlk) and then pretended to ‘die’ of space radiation poisoning.
Surprise! Supergirl wasn’t sent to the Phantom Zone! She figured out that ‘Superman’ was a fake (how she figured it out involves Comet so screw it) and she gave ‘Superman’ a fake Phantom Zone projector to use on her. The aliens know they’re licked and decide to make peace with Earth instead of getting their asses kicked by Superman when he returns from a fake time-traveling mission that the aliens sent him on to get him out-of-the-way.
