The only kind of story that comes close to the lameness of a Comet the Super-Horse story is a super-tot story.
One day Supergirl is flying over Africa when she notices a young girl falling through the air. She saves her but later notices that Candy, who can’t give any identifying information, has Kryptonian-like super-powers.
Supergirl decides to take Candy home with her but surprisingly enough a super-tot is too much to handle for a young adult who has just learned how not to get into trouble herself. She tries to leave her in a Kandorian orphanage but Candy won’t have it.
Supergirl then uses up her bright idea for the week and decides to look for Candy’s family on the continent where she originally found her. Candy shows her a storage container of Kryptonian food (it fell off Supergirl’s ship when she entered orbit) which Candy was snacking on before Supergirl found her. The food gave her temporary Kryptonian powers which means that Candy is actually human. Supergirl then looks around and almost instantaneously finds Candy’s family. She returns them their missing daughter who has now lost her super-powers.
