Supergirl falls in love (it doesn’t end well)!
This issue begins with a group of space villains secretly studying Supergirl. They are gathering information on her in order to create the perfect boyfriend android for her. I’m sure that they aren’t going through all this work for altruistic reasons.
Kara does in fact fall head over heels in love with him. Randor lays it on thick, telling Kara that he is an alien prince sent to Earth on a mission from his father. Randor tells Kara that he has been observing her (as part of his mission, of course) and has fallen deeply in love with her. He asks Kara to visit his home planet and meet his father.
After arriving on planet Calyx Kara is tricked into sitting on a throne that transfers her super-powers to Bronar, the chief space-villain. Their plan is to use Kara’s super-powers to take over other worlds. Bronar stabs Randor through the chest to prove to Kara that he is an android. Randor betrays Bronar and helps Kara regain her super-powers.
Bronar accidentally damaged Randor’s control circuits when he stabbed him, giving him free will to help out Kara. Unfortunately, Randor is shot by one of Bronar’s henchmen and ‘dies’.
