The conclusion to Supergirl’s adventure on Terra. Will Superman finally allow her to operate in public?
Part one is here.
Supergirl and Marvel Man now have to clean up the mess they made with Marvel Maid’s formally-orbiting Fortress. Thankfully no one on Terra, including the family who lives nearby, noticed a giant sphere crashing to the surface of the planet. Terra must not have been as ‘cold-war’ paranoid as Earth was at the same time. Marvel Maid forgives Supergirl and lets her patrol in her place again. This time Supergirl succeeds and saves Terra’s first manned space flight from a near-fatal disaster. Marvel Maid is so impressed by this that she decides to travel to Earth to personally tell Superman that his younger cousin is ready to stop her training and operate in public.
Marvel Maid arrives on Earth and before she can introduce herself to Superman he mistakes her for Supergirl and tells her that he has finally decided to reveal her existence to the world. It’s important to point out that while Supergirl disguised herself on Terra by covering her ‘S’ emblem with Marvel Maid’s ‘MM’ emblem Marvel Maid is wearing her ‘MM’ emblem and Superman doesn’t notice. He only notices after he takes Marvel Maid to the Fortress of Solitude and shows off his preparations for Supergirl’s coming out. Maybe someone should get a refresher course on ‘looking at stuff‘.
Marvel Maid then presents her case for Supergirl’s ‘graduation’ from Superman’s training which at this point is useless since Superman has already decided that Supergirl is done. But Marvel Maid can’t be shut up and she starts to describe all the mistakes that Supergirl made on Terra. Oh sure, she gives good excuses for Supergirl’s boo-boos but c’mon, when trying to convince a person of another’s competence you don’t read off a laundry list of their mistakes.
Her favor to Supergirl accomplished Marvel Maid returns to Terra where she decides to finally reveal Marvel Man’s existence to the public. Supergirl returns to Earth where Superman decides to rescind his promise for Supergirl’s ‘debut’ because Supergirl screwed up too much on Terra. While it’s technically true Supergirl messed up remember that Superman had just confused Marvel Maid with Supergirl, even though they have different emblems on their chest. Supergirl takes the news pretty well considering she shot herself in the super-foot with that trip to Terra.
