The goodies after the break:
Smurfs Volume 1 The Purple Smurf GN :: I’ve wanted to get these since I picked up the $1 sampler issue.
Smurfs Volume 2 The Magic Flute GN :: Copy/pasta above.
Legion Of Super-Heroes #5 (download preview) :: Not bad, but I could easily have waited for the trade. The ending was obvious.
Power Girl #16 (download preview) :: I love both the plot and art. It’s not as funny as with the previous creative team but still has some humorous scenes, especially while Pee Gee fights:
Supergirl #56 (download preview) :: I have a low tolerance for Bizarro story lines but I’m OK with this one. Bizarro Lex was a cool character until he was unceremoniously killed off. This is a fun storyline and I’m digging it.
Image Firsts: I Kill Giants #1 (preview) :: A series I wanted to try for a buck, ’nuff said.
John Stanley Library Tubby Volume 1 HC (download preview) :: Now that I’m obsessed with Little Lulu I couldn’t pass this up. These John Stanley books are so beautiful, Drawn and Quarterly is doing a great job reprinting this material.
The Adventures of Tintin V1: Tintin in America / Cigars of the Pharaoh / The Blue Lotus :: I wanted to try out Tintin but I didn’t know where to start until new Twitter pal Funkster1970 recommended both Cigars of the Pharaoh and The Blue Lotus as good starting points.
Four Color Fear: Forgotten Horror Comics of the 1950s (download preview) :: I saw pal/employee Aaron fondling this book and after taking a good look myself I knew I had to buy it. It includes great glossy reprints of horror comic covers.
