Strange Tales
While hanging out at the comic book shop on Saturday I remembered that one of my new favorite webcomic artists (Kate Beaton) was published in that week’s Strange Tales #1. Her contribution to the comic was maybe 4 pages. Having not bought a Marvel comic since….well, maybe EVER I asked Mike how much it costs: $4.99. I was kinda shocked, I wasn’t expecting to pay five bucks for 48 pages! I like the idea of indie artists re-imagining famous Marvel properties but I just couldn’t get myself to plop the money down for it. If you want exposure for these less-know artists/writers wouldn’t you want to set a price point where someone would take a chance picking it up not knowing what they are getting? I did end up buying something that day: a 46-year-old romance comic.
Vinegar-Puss
This story with an…attention-grabbing title ran in Sweethearts (published by Charlton Comics in 1964) volume 2 issue #79.
Check it out after the break (be patient, they are big scans).
