I was feeling under the weather this week (and it was a filing deadline at work on Wednesday to boot) so I didn’t get to the comic book shop until Saturday. It worked out because there weren’t any new comics that I wanted to get and the shop is much more mellow (at least the comic side) than it is on Wednesdays. Going in after Wednesday gives me an opportunity to chat up Mike and Aaron. My mini-haul after the break:

Who cares about The Widening Gyre, it’s not in continuity…
Or is it? In this article Batman Beyond miniseries writer Adam Beechen states that Batman Beyond (for now) is being treated as ‘in continuity’ and this week’s issue includes this statement from Dick Grayson:
If Batman Beyond is in continuity and the Silver than Dick is talking about is Silver St. Cloud from Kevin Smith’s Batman: The Widening Gyre then that pile of shit miniseries is in continuity.

Oh, and while we are on the topic of Batman Beyond I still haven’t read anything online which clears up why there seems to be two conflicting Batman Beyond origins stories.

Aquaman Sword of Atlantis: Once and Future TPB :: I remember really liking this One Year Later Aquaman relaunch. While I don’t mind that the Aquaman mantle has reverted back to the original character I think it stinks that the writers had Arthur abandon his duties and disappear.
